My summer book tour
Watch out Dallas area, your favorite new horror author is on the prowl this summer! Image by Susan Gilstrap
A year already, whut? It's been a full rotation around the sun since my debut short story collection, Show Me Where It Hurts, crawled out of the dark corners of my mind and into the world. To celebrate this summer, I'm headed out on yet another book tour in the Dallas metroplex area. Over the next few weeks, I'll be visiting a few of my favorite locations to meet fellow horror fans, and yuck it up about the strange places where stories come from. Whether you've been with the book since release day or you're just discovering it now, I'd love to meet you at the following locations:
July 11 | 1p - 3p
Barnes & Noble
Rockwall
July 18 - July 19
Texas Book Lovers Con
Denton
July 25 | 1p - 3p
Barnes & Noble
Addison
August 4 | 1p - 4p
Barnes & Noble
Garland
August 29 | 12p – 4p
Madness Games & Comics
Plano
Man, I get a kick out of doing these promotions. The act of writing can be difficult and lonely, so getting out and meeting readers face to face is a refreshing change of pace. I've met some wonderful people and had some deep conversations about writing, and that's icing on the already-sweet cake of getting your work published. Sometimes those conversations even turn into a book sale, which is also nice. But nothing beats those personal connections.
It’s a blast meeting new readers and running into old friends on tour. (Hi, Diva!)
Thank you to everyone who has supported Show Me Where It Hurts during its first year. Buying the book, leaving a review, recommending it to a friend, or simply telling me what resonated has meant more than you know. If you haven’t picked up your copy yet, you can buy it here on Amazon.
Here's to another year of unsettling stories. Speaking of, I'm working on my second collection at the moment. Hopefully I'll have a manuscript ready to send out to publishers in a few weeks. Don't expect to see a published book very soon, though. The publishing world moves slowly and these things take an awful lot of time.
Until then, I hope to see you somewhere on the road this summer.
Keep it spooky, amigos.
